African American Kenneth Chamberlain, 68, was
shot and killed by a white policeman. The killing
occurred in November after police came to a call that Chamberlain had
made by setting off his medical alert device. Chamberlain called a health
center saying the police were at his door and he was not sick. He is then heard
to ask the police to leave
Next the police shot a Taser and were trying
to get in. At one point Chamberlain said "shoot me, shoot me, mother
(expletive), shoot me” The police then forced their way in after a Taser
failed. Photos show forced entry and blood. Then the officer shot at
Chamberlain when he tried to resist.
This is what his son, also named Kenneth, had
to say "He feared for his life," and "He kept asking them
to go away and that he didn't need their help." He said his father was an
old man who was sick and said police were not justified in forcing their way in
when he had committed no crime. His niece Tanya said "I heard my
uncle begging and pleading them to please leave him alone," "I
could begin to almost hear fear in his voice." Chamberlain was a
former marine who had respiratory problems so severe he couldn’t walk down stairs
Tanya
also asked to talk with him, but police refused. Chamberlain’s family believes
that he was treated differently because he was black. They said they could hear
one of the policemen call him an N-Word. This is a tragedy and we hope the
family the best.

Allen, you have an interesting article and polices' rational for shooting is interesting. For santizing to be more apparent, next time discuss the POV of the police in greater detail.
